The Beckwiths Wanted a New Floor and Ended Up with a New Lifestyle

Camille Beckwith and her husband, Tom realized that flooring is an important element in first impressions of their home. Not to mention its vital task of, well, making you feel at home.

They also saw that an entire house could be beautiful, but worn, scratched, or stained flooring can instantly take away from the overall effect. So when the Beckwiths found themselves working on small remodel projects throughout their home, they wanted to get away from their existing worn out carpet and vinyl. In its place, they were interested in using COREtec flooring but needed some answers before diving straight into the process. Here’s how their experience unfolded.

A Hunt for Answers

The Beckwiths knew from the beginning that they wanted hardwood floors, specifically COREtec, which is a great flooring option for those who want something that’s durable, stylish, and easy to install. For instance, the COREtec Plus HD TMCollection represents the latest innovation in flooring as a superior alternative to glue-down luxury vinyl plank (LVP), locking LVP and Laminate flooring. The patented construction features an innovative extruded core made from recycled wood and bamboo dust, limestone and virgin PVC. COREtec Plus HD TM is 100% waterproof, can be installed in wet areas, and will never swell when exposed to water. After shopping around several discount stores, they found little help, guidance, and selection. Same was true of the big box stores. Ultimately, they found themselves at City Tile talking to Jonathan, one of our floor salesmen at City Tile, who was easy to work with and helped them find exactly what they were looking for.

“We knew we wanted
COREtec before we went to City Tile,” Tom said, “but we had other questions about care, upkeep, maintenance––things like that, and they were very helpful answering all our questions and adding important information of their own. City Tile reassured us that it was good for what we needed, where it was going to be used, and what we wanted to do.”

With his flooring expertise, Jonathan was able to answer all their questions and lead them to the next step in the process: installation.

The Best Flooring Solution

The COREtec, Amalfi Beige tile, flooring that the Beckwiths were interested in ended up being exactly what they needed for their lifestyle. And, make no mistake about it, lifestyle enhancement was high on their list. For their 2,100 sq. ft. house, they decided on engineered hardwood, Maple Midnight from Nuvelle, for the living area and COREtec in the bathroom, kitchen, and office area. The fact that it was 100% water resistant and wouldn’t warp or buckle after a big spill or contact with moisture was a major plus. This flooring was designed for the everyday life by looking good while being prepared for anything life throws at it––literally.

Because they immersed themselves in the City Tile process
, the Beckwiths were thrilled with the outcome. “The hardwood really makes it look great,” Tom said. “There was tile in the space before and now the hardwood goes all the way from the front door to the back sitting area, making it a really unique space.”

How City Tile Was the Best
Choice
The Beckwiths were ultimately attracted to the affordable prices and professionalism of our City Tile team and we did our best to make sure what they settled on would be attractive, durable, and would add something to their lives. We answered all of their questions in a helpful and timely manner. And we even resolved a potential issue with the manufacturer, as we always protect the best interests of our clients.

“That was part of the reason we went with City Tile,” Tom commented. “Because if we had a problem, we would have someone to be on our side about it and take care of it and they came through. They took care of it and they were awesome!

Tom Beckwith and his wife came into City Tile with questions about the COREtec hardwood and left reassured that the flooring of their preference would be an excellent fit for them both functionally and style-wise.

“We have no complaints. We’re very happy.”

You see, the Beckwiths felt that the guidance we offered them was not only valuable, but invaluable in creating a warm and inviting lifestyle. So, they came to us hoping that new flooring would change their home and ended up with flooring that changed their life. Or at least their lifestyle.
