My husband and I had a wonderful experience working with City Tile and their staff when we needed to remodel some things in our home.

I am not gifted when it comes to decorating, and the staff at City Tile (Susan Headden) helped me to make wonderful selections of carpet and hardwood to enhance the beauty of our home. I also remodeled the back splash in my kitchen, and I LOVE the results.

They made the entire experience easy and pain free. Everything went well, and now months later, we love what they did and will certainly use them again!

1. Cut a section at a time with a carpet knife (without cutting into the floor!)
2. Roll that section up, and then pull up that section of padding.
3. Use pliers (almost any kind will do, but some are easier on the hands than others) to remove the staples that held down the pad. Pull them straight up, as this will leave the smallest mark in the floor. If they are tight to the floor, tap a small screw driver under them just enough to use the pliers.
4. Then, use a pry bar to pull up the tack board that runs around the room. Those nails are sharp, so use care! Remove left behind nails with a hammer claw or pry bar.

This is a big job; my best advice is to get a professional to help you. It could save your floors and your back.

City Tile and Floor Covering Co.

I would like to express to you my absolute pleasure in my finished master bathroom and the backsplash in my kitchen after using the tile that I choose at City Tile.

My husband and I were remodeling and adding on to a house we bought in Shelbyville.  I had looked locally and could not find exactly what I wanted for the master tile walk-in shower.  Our construction manager, Gary Calvert suggested your store in Murfreesboro.The day I came into the store for the first time, Mr. Doug Young greeted me and helped me. He was short handed that day but took all the time I needed and never rushed me. I knew what I wanted, just had not seen it yet.

The shower displays were so helpful.  To be able to see a full size shower wall, tub surround and other displays like the wall with a window and tile around it made the whole selection process so much easier.  It is far better to actually see the tile, and decorative moldings “in person” that just looking at a picture of it.

I knew I wanted some glass tiles for accent on my shower walls and Doug Young showed me everything he carried.  When I saw the green “pencil” tiles in Botanical Brick Mosaic that settled it. I also went with the Tosca Ivory Marazzi tile in the 20×20 inch for the floor, the 13×13 tiles for walls and the 6×6 for overhead and floor of shower.  It is just what I had envisioned.

For the kitchen backsplash, I wanted something to coordinate with Hickory custom cabinets and granite countertops. Mr. Young said that he had many pieces of the most popular granite there at the store just to help customers choose a backsplash. I was so surprised when he showed me the pieces, and my granite was one of his samples.   Since the granite was very “busy”, I decided on the tumbled marble, Chiaro and a matching half round.  Having the countertop there was a great help and made the selection all the more easy.

I found everything I wanted in less than an hour.  My husband could not believe it.

City Tile will definitely be the place I go the next time I need any type of flooring or decorative tile of any kind.
